A short tour for those short on time but long for a refreshing getaway from the daily grind! This tour highlights and packages India in a condensed package with the most attractive sights on offer : the Magnificent TAJ MAHAL which is a poem in marble and a paean to the immortal love of Emperor SHAHJAHAN for his beloved Queen MUMTAZ. A treasure trove of arts & artefacts on display in the JAIPUR museum vies for attention with the architectural wonders of the many palaces and forts that adorn the city built of pink sandstone.

Lotus Temple Delhi, Bahai Temple Delhi Day 01: Arrive Delhi
Arrival delhi, meet assist at the airport/ train station and transfer to hotel. Later start to visit for sightseeing tour of New Delhi where ornate buildings recall the days when India was the Jewel in the crown of the British empire. Visit the 11th century Qutab Minar ,India Gate and the grand government buildings, the President's House, Mahatama Gandhi Memorial. Also visit Laxmi Narayan temple popularly known as Birla Temple. Night stay in Delhi.

Day 02: Delhi - Agra (By Road)
Early morning drive to the city of Taj- Agra , Arrive Agra in approx. 4 hours & transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit the Agra Fort - the rusty and majestic red-sandstone fort of Agra stands on the banks of the river Yamuna and the construction was started by Emperor Akbar in 1566. At the Diwan-I-Am (hall of public audience), a colonnaded hall of red-sandstone with a throne alcove of inlaid marble at the back, the Emperor heard public petitions. At the Diwan-I-Khas (hall of private audience) where marble pavilions with floral inlays lend an ethereal ambience, the Emperor sat on his gem-studded Peacock Throne and met foreign ambassadors and rulers of friendly kingdoms. Later at sunset visit the magnificent Taj Mahal - one of the seven wonders of the world surely the most extravagant expression of love ever created. 20,000 men laboured for over 17 years to build this memorial to Shah Jahan's beloved wife. Evening free to explore the Agra's rich heritage of handicrafts in its markets. Night stay in Agra.

Day 03: Agra - Jaipur (By Road)
Agar Fort Agra, Agra Fort and Palaces After breakfast drive to Jaipur- the fabled "pink city" of the desert named after Jai Singh, the former Maharaja of Jaipur. This is the only city in the world symbolizing the nine divisions of the universe through the nine rectangular sectors subdividing it. The palaces and forts of the yesteryears, which were witnesses to the royal processions and splendours are now living monuments enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri-a perfectly preserved red sandstone "ghost town" which was the estranged capital of mughal emperor Akbar, built in 1569 and deserted when its water supply failed. Arrive Jaipur in late evening & transfer to Hotel. Evening visit Choki Dhani to enjoy a colourful Rajathani Folk Dances and Dinner. Night stay in Jaipur.

Day 04: Jaipur
After a leisurely breakfast , visit the majestic Amber Fort, is one that cannot be easily described. Later visit the City Palace, Palace of Winds also known as Hawa Mahal, this elaborate building, now little more than a façade, is encrusted with delicate screen sand carved balconies from which the royal ladies, confined to their quarters, could sneak views of the outside world. Past, present and future merge at Jai Singh's observatory, where time has been accurately measured since the 17th century. Night stay in Jaipur

Day 05: Jaipur to Airport Departure
After breakfast drive to Jaipur or Transfer to Delhi airport/ Train station for onward journey.

Extension

Hill Fort Kesroli, Kesroli Tours Hill Fort, Kesroli (1Night)
Visit the village of Kesroli via Fatehpur Sikri, deserted now, but built at the height of the Mughal empire's splendor. Experience rural village life and stay in the wonderful 14th century Hill Fort heritage hotel before driving on to Jaipur.

Neemrana (1 Night)
Located in the Aravalli ranges, Neemrana is a restful area where you can explore the neighbouring villages and countryside of Rajasthan stay at the heritage hotel of Neemrana Fort Palace.

Amritsar (2 Nights / 3 Days)
The spiritual center for the Sikhs, home to the Golden Temple and the gateway to Punjab. is one of the most ancient and fascinating cities of India. It is an important seat of Sikh history and culture. Being the gateway for travellers coming to India on the overland route from central Asia it soon became the centre of various commercial activities. There are various historical and religious sites - The most famous of them all in the Golden Temple which was founded by the fourth Guru of Sikhs, Guru Ramdas and completed by his successor Guru Arjan Dev. Jallian Wala Bagh This place noted for its most notorious massacre under British rule by the then Lieutienant Governor of the province, General Dyer. On 13 April 1919, General Dyer personally led the troops to the sight and ordered his men to open fire without any warning on a peacefull gatering of pilgrims on the occasion of Baisakhi, a holiday in Sikh Callender. At the entrance there is a memorial plaque which recounts the history. Wagha Border : The international border between India and Pakistan. The pomp and pageantry of the Beating Retreat and the Change of Guard within handshaking distance of the Indian and Pakistani forces makes for a most charming spectacle.

Itinerary:
Day 1 Arrive Amritsar by train / flight. Transfer to Hotel. Later in the day proceed to Wagah Border followed by visit to Golden Temple. Dinner & night at hotel.

Day 2 Breakfast, Morning tour of Amritsar - Jallianwala Bagh, Local Gurudwaras / Durgiana Temple, Amritsar Bazar and afternoon drop at Railway station / Airport Amritsar.
